Michael Ray Smith was born November 2, 1961 in Bakersfield, California to Carson William Smith, Jr. and Frances Geneva Smith and passed from this life May 16, 2021 in Weleetka at the age of 59.

Michael Ray Smith was raised in Bakersfield and graduated High School in Shafter, California. After High School, Michael joined the Marines and served four years, stationed primarily in Guam. After his service, he worked with his family as a hay contractor for Tilman for almost 20 years. Michael moved to Weleetka to be with family in 2003 and made it his home. He worked as a roofer until he suffered an injury on the job and after this, he diligently took care of his mother and father.

Michael loved all sports, especially fishing and hunting. He was known as an outdoorsman and especially remembered for his love of his family.

Michael is preceded in death by two brothers, Randall Wayne Smith and Terry William Smith.

He is survived by his parents, Carson and Geneva; by his siblings, Brenda Millikin, Ginger Stafford, and Margo Berool; by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

A graveside funeral service for Michael Ray Smith will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00am at Wetumka Cemetery in Wetumka, Oklahoma, under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka. Rev. Don Williamson will officiate.
