Mrs. Ruby Helen (Chatman) Bouldin

Ruby Chatman Bouldin was born on February 16, 1933 to Thomas and Selbia Chatman in Clearview, Oklahoma where she grew up and attended school. She was the fifth child of eleven children (two died at birth). She moved to Dallas, TX in 1966. During her fifty-four years in Dallas, she worked as a nurse’s aide at several hospitals.

One special talent Ruby excelled in was fixing “stuff.” Very seldom did she call a service pro vider for anything. Ruby could hang cabinets, paint, lay carpet, dabble in plumbing repairs, change her car oil, and was a professional seamstress. Whatever the job was, Ruby would attempt to get it done. She taught all three of her children to do things for themselves. She will always be remembered for her unbelievable skills and her love of gardening tinkering with things.

Ruby is preceded in death by three sisters, Leorah Shaw, Verda Mae Farmer and Evelyn Burton, five brothers, Shelby Chatman, Tethro Chatman, Jethro Chatman, Tommy Chatman and Thomas Chatman.

She leaves to mourn three children: Stevie King, Selbia Robinson and Jackie Moore (Houston, TX), daughter-in law: Patricia King, sonin-law: Calvin Moore (Houston, TX) grandchildren: Chante Camp, Willie Robinson, Stevie King Jr. (Colorado), Eric Bird, Travis King and Calvin (Moses) Moore II, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
