Newman Cleo Robison was born December 15, 1923 in Carson, Oklahoma to Newman and Myrtle (Whitwell) Robison and passed from this life January 17, 2022 in Henryetta, Oklahoma at the age of 98.

Cleo was born​and raised in the Carson and Dustin areas and made it his lifelong home. As a young man he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps which was designed by the federal government to employ young men on environmental projects. Other jobs included working at a machine shop in Tulsa and G and H Decoy in Henryetta. However, his primary vocation was as a ranch foreman for the Middle Creek Ranch and the Creek Nation.

He married Geraldine (Jerry) Stout in Tulsa but they made Carson and Dustin their home.

Cleo enjoyed hunting, trapping, cattle, and rodeos. He was also very proud of his Native American heritage and created beautiful Indian bead work.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: His wife Jerry of the home; 2 daughters, Nickie Martin and spouse Jr. of Dustin and Nan Robison and spouse Shauna Phillips of Tulsa; a brother Tommy Robison of Lamar; 3 grandchildren, Nikita Adkins, Jacob Martin, and Amber Williams; along with several other relatives and many friends. Also, of the home is his beloved little dog, Lucy.

Public viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home in Wetumka. Due to Covid-19 concerns a private family ceremony with Rev. John Roberts officiating will be held later. Pallbearers will be Tony Robison, Joe Robison, Dean Adkins, Jacob Martin, Kyle Robison and Laren Robison. Interment will be in the Carson Cemetery under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home.
