Otis Mahee, Jr.

Otis Mahee, Jr. passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at the age of 76 years.

Otis was the son of Otis Hiatt Mahee Sr. and Geneva (Deer) Mahee, born on February 27, 1944, in Talihina, Oklahoma. He was brought up in Calvin and attended Calvin and Moss schools. He worked at various jobs, beginning at a young age hoeing peanuts for farmers in the Calvin area. He attended Okmulgee Tech and learned auto repair, particularly car painting, and worked for a while painting cars. He later became a roofing contractor and worked for many years roofing houses. His favorite pastimes were gardening and playing dominoes. He lived most of his adult life in Oklahoma City.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hiatt & Geneva Mahee; two brothers, Ronald Mahee and Larry Mahee, and one sister, Charlene Kilgore.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Mahee; two brothers, Norman Young of Calvin and Faron Young of Oklahoma City; one sister, Anita Boyd, of Holdenville; a special cousin, Rose Boyd of Oklahoma City; special friend, Peggy Wood of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Private family services will be held. Faron Young, Norman Young, Jerry Deer, and Bill Jacobs will serve as pallbearers.
