Our sympathies extended to the families of... David Brinkley Rogers

David Brinkley Rogers was born July 17, 1941, in Hanna, Oklahoma to Edgar Taylor Rogers and Opal Chastain Rogers and passed from this life October 23, 2022, at the Hillcrest Hospital Henryetta at the age of 81.

David was raised in rural Hughes County. He attended Graham School where he played on the basketball and baseball teams. After his school years he honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam war. Following his discharge in 1964 he was trained as an electrician and worked several years as an electrical contractor.

As a young man he married Joyce Philpot and to this union two children were born, Brian and Denise. On June 17, 1980, he married Betty Lasater and welcomed her three children into his family, Tami, Kevin, and Bobby. Betty preceded him in death.

He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Along with his wife Betty, David was also preceded in death by a son David Brian Rogers, a grandson Colin Rogers, and siblings Barbara Smith, Robert and Frankie Withrow, and Carolyn Rogers.

Survivors include: a daughter Denise Rogers Green and husband Jason of Troy, MO; his stepchildren Tami Moses, Kevin Lasater, and Bobby Lasater, and wife Wendy, all of Tulsa; 4 sisters, Lou Hillyer of Wetumka, Roberta Kleinpeter of Hawley, TX, Vivian Reynolds of Wetumka, and Linda Mosey of Tulsa; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Wetumka on Saturday, October 29, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Caldwell, Dustin Caldwell, Austin Caldwell, Keaton Donathan, Brandon Roberts, and Bart Harvey. Services will be directed by the Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
