Funeral Services for Tarpie Yargee will be held Monday, July 5,2021 at 10:00 AM at Iron Post Bristow, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Bucktrot Family Cemetery in Bristow, Oklahoma. Wake Services will be at the AQ Levina Beaver Senior Citizens Center in Wetumka, Saturday July 3,2021 at 4:00 PM and Sunday July 4,2021.

Tarpie Yargee was born March 2,1951 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Phillip (Sutv) and Winey (Scott) Yargee. He passed away Friday, July 2,2021 at his home in Okemah at the age of 70.

Tarpie retired after serving his community for 28 years as the AQ Tribal Town Chief. He was a part of the Ceremonial Grounds and love to play stickball and dancing. He loved basketball, fishing, listening to Muskogee Creek Hymns and most of all enjoyed his grandchildren and watching every sport or function they were a part of. He served our nation in the U.S. Marine Corps. He walked the Ho-Chi-Man trail in the Vietnam War and had a US flag flown in his honor at the US Pentagon and was an AARP Recipient. Tarpie had earned two Associates Degrees one from Seminole Junior College and Oklahoma State University IT-Okmulgee. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts at ECU in Criminal Justice. He will be missed by so many family, friends and nieces and nephews who he loved very much.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Christopher (Blue) Merritt, 9 brothers, Roman Yargee, Joseph Yargee, Samuel Yargee, Dave Yargee, John King, Wallace Scott, Henry Yargee, Steve Yargee, and Bobby Yargee, two sisters, Bessie Wise Talamassey, and Phylis Yargee.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Amy of the home; 3 daughters, Sharon Yargee and husband George Factor of Wetumka, Ok., Gayle Yargee and Adam West of Okemah, Ok., Esther Yargee of Seminole, Ok., brother Jacky Yargee of Okemah, Ok., 3 sisters, Evelyn McLemore of Wetumka, Ok., Rovena Yargee of Holdenville, Ok., and Josephine Yargee of Holdenville, Ok., uncle Turner Scott, 11 grandchildren Joshua Roberts, Cynda Factor, Madison Factor, Tema Yargee, Suntilla Jack, Sutv Jack, Akeeyah Merritt, Bryce Merritt, C.J. Merritt, Raeleigh Merritt, and Chandra Vasquez. 6 great-grandchildren, Kian Roberts, Draven George, Ava Hicks, Leeann Chavez, Natalie Chavez, and Lorena Santacruz.

Pallbearers will be Alabama Ceremonial Groundsmen and nephews.

Honorary bearers include Donnie McGeehee, Jay Fife, William Harrison, Brandon Bush, Ernie Jackson, Lorenzo Max, Andrew Giorgi and Dustin Cloud.

Flower girls will be Wilma, Annora, Smmie Jo, Tina, Vivian, Cassandra, Bernadine, Justina, Patty, Carol, Laverne and Cindy.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma.
