Our sympathies extended to the families of Vickie L. Mead

Funeral services for Vickie L. Mead, Wetumka resident, were held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Living Water Church of Wetumka, Oklahoma. Wake services were held Tuesday, 7:00 PM also at the Living Water Church. Interment followed at the Wiley – Watson Cemetery.

Vickie Mead was born August 26, 1954 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 67. Vickie was a resident of the

Vickie was a resident of the Wetumka area most all of her life and was a 1972 graduate of Weleetka High School. In 1973, she married, Jack Mead. Vickie was a retired nurse who enjoyed working with her flower beds, traveling, family get-togethers and especially watching her grandkids play sports and attending any event they were involved in. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Mead; one brother, Bill Morris and one sister, Velma Carder.

She is survived by her daughter, Robbie Peel and husband Robert of Wetumka; stepdaughter, Tereasa Cantrell of Weleetka; stepson, Jerry Mead and wife Jeannie of Weleetka; two brothers, Bobby Harjo of Liberty Mounds and Johnny “Chubby” Harjo of Ardmore; four grandchildren, Nathan Peel of Wetumka, Trenton Peel of Wetumka, Tuffy Peel of Morris and Kayla Peel of Dallas, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bray’dn, Wyatt, Weston and Alexis and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her. Active pallbearers were Nathan Peel, Trenton Peel, Cash Crump, Justin Harjo, Brannom Farrow, Johnathan Harjo, Larry “Pooner” Smith, Jr.

Honorary bearers included Robert Peel Sr., Braxton Peel, Larry Don Smith, Billy Dover, Bobby Harjo, Johnny “Chubby” Harjo and Bing Gann.

Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma and officiated by Brad Burton, Mark Smith, Curt Bellinger and Bo Gibbs.
