Posted in:

Peggy Lynn Walton Mayo passed away at her home near Wewoka, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the age of 74 years.

Peggy was the daughter of Hubert and Geneva (Price) Lester, born on December 27, 1948, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools. She was married to Charles Walton and they lived for a time in California and in Guymon following his work, but made their home mostly in Holdenville. Charles passed away in 1995 and Peggy was later married to Charles ‘Chuck’ Mayo, who also preceded her in death.

Peggy was creative and enjoyed crafting, but at heart she was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her four children. Her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Geneva Lester; two sons, Danny Walton and Keith Walton; and an infant sister, baby Lester.

She is survived by two children: her daughter Sandy Pierce and husband Mike, who Peggy affectionately referred to as her favorite son-inlaw, and her son Hugh ‘Bub’ Walton and companion Pamela Daggs; five grandchildren: Colton Pierce, Christina Pierce (Brandon), Courtney Walton, Candace Ervin, and Tia Walton; six great-grandchildren: Jace Grizzle, Cole Grizzle, Cami Grizzle, Austin Gore, Della Crawford, and Wryn Sullivan; sister Brenda Pembrook (Randy); nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 2nd, 2:00 pm at Holdenville Cemetery Chapel, with Rev. Ronald Mayfield officiating. Pallbearers are Mike Pierce, Colton Pierce, Case Grizzle, Brandon Sullivan, Randy Pembrook, and Bub Walton. www.fisherfh.net
