Peggy Smith

Peggy Jean (Harrison) Smith, departed this life at the age of 65 years. She was born November 11, 1955 in Wewoka to the late Eugene Harrison and Susie Baker Harrison. She was a cook for Holdenville schools for many years.

Peggy married John Wayne Smith on October 5, 1983 in Holdenville.

She enjoyed sewing, baking, painting, gardening, going to yard sales and bird watching. She enjoyed playing Texas Canasta and spending time with her family. Peggy would bake cinnamon rolls on a regular basis and take some to the fire department in Holdenville and Peggy also took yeast rolls to the workers at the Murray Building Bombing.

Preceding Peggy in death are her parents; and two brothers, Jimmy Harrison and Raymond Harrison.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, John Wayne Smith; daughter, Jennifer Morphis and husband Mike of Boswell, Oklahoma; sons, Mark Olney and wife Nesha of Holdenville, and Scott Smith and wife Angie of Cypress, Texas; eight grandchildren; siblings, Mary and Rick Gantt of Wewoka, Carol Schaff of St. Helens, Oregon, Ricky Harrison and wife Lucy of Central Point, Oregon, and John Harrison and wife Louise of Dundee, Oregon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial service were 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 3 rd at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joe Ligon officiating.

Honorary pall bearers were Bob Irby Jr., Rick Gantt, Kevin Johnson, Mike Morphis, Victor Harrison, Bob Smith, Jeremy Schaff and John Weldon.
