Rayburn Delmore “Ray” Allen, age 77 and a long-time resident of Holdenville, Oklahoma passed away January 23, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Cookson Cemetery located twenty miles north of Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. James Williams will officiate.

Ray was born February 3, 1944 in Hope, Arkansas to William Allen and Doris Mae (Owen) Allen. He graduated from Glenpool, Oklahoma, and he married Jane Elizabeth Renegar on September 14, 1979. Ray worked as a concrete salesman in the commercial industry, and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved to sing Karaoke, listen to Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley music, shoot pool, and build race car engines. Ray also loved to tell old stories, and he loved visits from his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Allen of the home; four daughters, Debbie Phillips of Owasso, Oklahoma, Cindy Jones of Hartman, Arkansas, Kasey Williams and husband, James of Tupelo, Oklahoma; and Malinda Appelman and husband, Paul of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and six grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Jessie, Jamie, Sylvia, and Eleanor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Doris Allen; one grandson, Michael; four brothers, Willard, Harlan, Howard, and Berlin Allen; three sisters, Kathleen Allen, Delores Morton, and Allene Brailey.
