Rev. David Michael Newbold went home to Jesus on February 23rd at age 61. David was born to Vernon and Cynthia Newbold on May 16, 1960 in Flint, Michigan.

David worked at a gas station while still going to school. He attended PSU and studied English. When he was 17, he started driving a milk truck, worked in elevators, construction work, Walmart, and Tyson. While he was employed at Tyson he also was a full-time Pastor at True Light Fellowship in Holdenville, where he served for 22 years.

David met the love of his life, Darla, in 1978 in Texhoma. They married in 1980 and went on to have four kids and had over 200 foster children. He was a loving Father and Grandfather, he also loved studying the Bible, helping others, spending time with family, riding his horse Spirit, painting, playing guitar and writing songs. Throughout his life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.

David joins father Vernon Newbold; mother Cynthia Hand; brothers Ernest Lee Newbold and Kenneth Eugene Newbold; father-in-law William Oliver Lemmones; mother-in-law Glenda Ruth Lemmones; daughter Jana Marie; granddaughter Kylie Lysette Flores; nephews Adam David Banks and Seth Ryan Young; great-nephew Uriah Shermaine; special uncle/ mentor Robert Conway; and special grandmother-in-law Jackie Ellison.

He is survived by the love of his life Darla (John) Tooley of Madill; children Terri (Waylon) Ford of Holdenville, Michael (McCall) Newbold of Okemah, Kyle Ford of Lawton, Heather Files of Tulsa, and D’Lynn Newbold of Madill; grandkids Britton, Brodric, Brooklin, Braylon, Michael, Lori, Cameron, Everleigh, Cameron, Landon, Malachi, Andrea, Desiree, Isaiah, Elijah, Eric and Jayla; greatgrandkids Addison and Kane; sisters Brenda (Gerald) Gore of Scott City, Kansas and Joy Gaines of Indiana; sistera-in-law Diana (Mike) Phillips of Pampa, Texas and Darlene Lemmones of Texhoma, Oklahoma; brothers-in-laws Delvin (Mary) Lemmones of Elk City, and Darren (Michelle) Lemmones of Lawton; and a host of many friends and family members.

A special thank you to the people at Complete Hospice Care and Fountain View Manor for their loving care and support during his final days.

David chose to donate his body to OU Willed Body Program. A Celebration of Life will held on March 12 th at 2:00 PM at New Beginnings Church, 1301 Mekusukey, Wewoka, OK 74884 with Rev. Luke Morrison officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are John Jacobs, Mike Meek, John Tooley, Bob Twomey, Ron Wiseman and Tim Wood.
