True Light Missionary Baptist Church

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Rev. Travis Rollins - Pastor

I will lift mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord who made Heaven and Earth.

Rhonda was born July 11, 1954 to Horace and Colleen Herndon in Wichita, Kansas. Rhonda accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 9. She was highly active in Tabernacle Baptist Church where she became a youth leader. She attended Height High School and was highly active and popular all through school. She was the first to volunteer and help after school and with the family. She was an excellent swimmer and ran for prom queen along with president of the student body. After moving to California and attending El Camino College for a year. Rhonda met and married Arthur Carter. The marriage ended in divorce. She later married Rodney Morris and divorce him as well.

Rhonda was proceeded in death by her father Horace Herndon, her sister Alice Herndon and brother Alex Herndon, maternal grandparents A. T. and Julia Golden and paternal grandparents Alex and Vercy Herndon.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Colleen Golden, her daughter, Misha L. Carter; grandson, Jase Matthew Carter; sons, Jonathan Eugene Carter and Robbie Kendall Morris, her sister, Marilyn J. Dumas (Roy) from Long Beach, California, sister, her brother, Ellis Trusty Herndon (Anglia) from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sister, Darla Herndon from Denver, Colorado; brother Horace Stanley House from Wichita, Kansas; cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of wonderful family and friends.

Rhonda was always ready and willing to help whenever there was a need. Her Aunt Chank used to tell people: everybody needs a Rhonda.
