Richard Alan McCasland, 55, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Stillwater Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 9am to 8pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater. Funeral service will be Friday, October 15, 2021, at 10:30am at in Perkins at Lifepoint Church, pastor Andrew Payne officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeremy McCasland, Austin McCasland, Gabriel Taylor, Thomas Knapp, John Lee, and Jerry McCasland. Honorary pallbearers will be Coby Monroe, Jack Mount, and Derrick Roberson. Interment will follow at Hilltop Cemetery in Stuart, Oklahoma at 3pm.

Richard (Rich) was born on April 27, 1966, in Concord, California to Richard H. McCasland and Karen (Derrick) Roberson. He grew up in California and moved to Calvin, Oklahoma in 7 th grade and graduated from Calvin High School in 1984. He was a member of Calvin FFA and was on the varsity baseball team with his brother Jerry. Rich’s father Darrell instilled in him a love for baseball. He collected baseball cards and could quote statistics for the Anaheim Angels off the top of his head. He then attended North Eastern Oklahoma Junior College where he was elected Freshman Class President and a member of the 1985 Livestock Judging Championship team. He then went on to Oklahoma State University to earn his degree in 1995 with dual degrees in Agricultural Economics and Accounting. Rich was an avid outdoorsman who loved to deer hunt and trout fish with his father Darrell, children, and grandchildren. Rich began raising Berkshire show pigs with his children in 2002. He raised numerous state and national champions as well as gained many close friends in the agricultural community. He was a member of the Payne County Pork Producers and an executive member of the American Berkshire Association. Rich was a respected financial advisor with Equitable, earning his place in the Hall of Fame in 2019. Rich began dating Miriam Nida in 2013, and they married on September 25, 2020, in Ridgedale, MO. They spent much of their time together traveling and especially enjoyed attending evangelical events.

Richard is preceded in death by his grandparents.

Richard is survived by his wife, Miriam McCasland of the home; five children, Jeremy McCasland and wife Makayla of Perkins, OK, Austin McCasland and wife Amanda of Oologah, OK, Elisabeth Lee and husband John of Guthrie, OK, Gabriel Taylor and Thomas Knapp both of Edmond, OK; six grandchildren, Audrey McCasland, Grant McCasland, Grady McCasland, Rachael McCasland, baby McCasland and baby Lee both on the way. Richard is also survived by his parents, Richard H. McCasland, and Karen and Darrell Roberson; his siblings, Jerry McCasland and wife Michele of Montana, John McCasland of California, Derrick Roberson and wife Tierra of Oklahoma, Zach McCasland and Eli McCasland both of California.
