Ruth Williamson

Ruth Pearl Williamson was born March 27, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona to James Burleson and Anna Belle Martin Burleson and passed from this life March 11, 2021 in Tulsa at the age of 68.

As a child she moved with her family from Arizona to Howe, Oklahoma and eventually to Lamar where she finished school. As a young lady she married B.C. Williamson in Paris, Texas. It was their joke that he took her to Paris to get married, failing to mention it was not Paris, France! During their thirty-four-year marriage she received certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She later furthered her education and received a nursing degree at Bacone College in Muskogee and became a Registered Nurse. She spent her life caring for the health and wellbeing of others until her own ill health restricted her activities. She took pride in her work and dearly loved her family and animals. She remembered everyone’s birthday and never missed making a happy birthday call with a song in her church choir voice! She loved sewing, making jewelry, knitting, holidays, and her church family. She was a long-time member of Christ’s Community Church in Weleetka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and six siblings.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Anne Harris, of Wagoner; four step-children: Randy William and his wife, Vicky, of Braggs, California; Peggy Brown and husband, Steve, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; Diane Bileck of Beggs, Oklahoma; and Jim Williamson of Georgia; siblings, Barbara Perry and husband, Don, of Byng Oklahoma; Susie Weaver of California; Jessie Hamilton of Yuma, Arizona; and Perry Burleson of Lamar, Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, Misty Williamson, Brandon Brown, Bradley Brown, Emily Bileck, Rachel Taylor, Megan Stevenson, Courtney Williamson, Jimmy Williamson, Jodie Bohannon, Jennifer Horton, Ashlee Harris, Elijah Harris, Julien Harris, Julieana Ortega, and Jaelynn Ortega; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Visitation will be at the Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Weleetka on Wednesday from 10:00am to 8:00pm. and Thursday from 9:00am to 11:00am. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 18 at 1:00pm at Christ Community Church in Weleetka with Rev. John Overton, pastor, officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Perry, Jeff Carpitcher, Baxter Davenport, Ashlee, Elijah Harris, and Julien Harris. A private family interment will follow under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka.
