Service Friday for Billie Rae Lamb Clay

Services for Billie Rae Lamb-Clay, 92, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 25th , at the First Baptist Church, Rev. Steve Dighton will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lamb-Clay passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at a Tulsa hospital. She was born September 30, 1927 at Bryant, Oklahoma to Ray Randall and Teala Dorough Goddard. She graduated from Wetumka High School in 1945. Billie went to work at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City in civilian Personnel, then she was promoted to Military Personnel.

She married Ray Winford Lamb on September 7, 1945. They were blessed with three sons, Dale Marshall Lamb, Alan Randall Lamb and George Edward Lamb. He preceded her in death. She later married C. D. Clay in 1992.

Mrs. Clay was a bookkeeper and accountant for CETA and later the assistant director and coordinator of the program for about 20 years and later was employed with the First National Bank. Mrs. Clay was a member of the First Baptist Church and active in Sunday school and church activities. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, The Rebekah’s and Toastmasters Club. Billie gives thanks to the First Baptist Pastors, School Superintendents, Principals, Teachers, Students and business people for being a part of her journey in life.

Survivors include her husband, C. D. Clay, of the home; three sons, Dale Lamb and wife Judy, Mission Viejo, California, Alan Lamb and wife Micci, Fort Collins, Colorado and George Lamb and wife Cindy, Tulsa; six grandchildren, Greg Lamb, Murrietta, California, Janice Lamb, Corte Madera, California, Teala Schwartz and husband Dave, Cave Creek, Arizona, Travis Lamb and wife Stephanie, Flagstaff, Arizona, Jeff Lamb, Tulsa, Jennifer Gwartney and husband Dason, Tulsa; six great-grandchildren, Allie and Sammie Schwartz of Cave Creek, Arizona, Josh and Logan Lamb, Midland, Texas, Jordon Davis, Corte Madera, California, and John Ryan Gwartney, Tulsa; her step-children, Kathy McCormick and husband Joe, Moore, Oklahoma, Conny Clay and wife Chris, Newalla; her step-grandchildren, Mark McCormick, Oklahoma City, Carmen Mercando and husband Mark, Tulsa, Gabe Wichman, St. Louis, Missouri, Cyndi Brown, Fort Collins, Colorado, Chelsea O’Brien, Ft. Collins, Colorado and Tyler Brown, Temecula, California; a sister, Pat Callender, Ardmore; many nieces, nephews and very dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Lamb; her parents, Ray and Teala Goddard; great-grandson, Arron Vaughn Lamb; her brothers, Edward and Alfred; and a sister, Mae Fedric.
