Service Friday for Louella Ray

Funeral services for Louella Denton Ray will be held Friday, September 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Wetumka, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Wetumka Cemetery. Louella Denton Ray was born August 8, 1928 in Driggs, Arkansas to Otto Heathcott and Dessie (Denton) Heathcott. She passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 91. Mrs. Ray was a resident of the Wetumka area most all of her life. She came to the area from Arkansas in 1933 and later graduated from Wetumka High School in 1946. On December 6, 1947 she married Clyde Edwin Ray in Holdenville, Oklahoma; he later preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Ray was a farmer’s wife who enjoyed gardening and loved her family. She was also a member of the Wetumka Church of Christ. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Leonard and Joel Heathcott and one sister, Euvonne Harrison. She is survived by her two sons, Eddie Ray and wife Pat of Wetumka and Burke Ray and wife Louanne of Wetumka; her daughter, June Caruthers and husband Bill of Seminole, Oklahoma; two brothers, Dewayne Heathcott and wife Doris of Pryor, Oklahoma and Gene Heathcott and wife Kay of Jenks, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Shelly Stewart, Wendy Kirkland, Donnie Ray, Amy O’Neil, Jim Ed Ray and Joey Caruthers; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Serving as active pallbearers will be Joey Caruthers, Donnie Ray, Jim Ed Ray, Gary Harrison, Arlie Nolen and Joe Kirkland. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Ray. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma and officiated by Bro. David Brassfield. Online condolences may be made at www.ParksBrothersFuneralHome.com.
