Herman "Paul" Dean passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at his home in Yeager, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Paul was born on September 18, 1935, in Yeager, to Clifford and Roberta (Johnson) Dean. He attended elementary and high school in Yeager.

On November 12, 1955, Paul married the love of his life, Melba Pruitt, at the Church of Christ in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Together, they raised peanuts and cattle, and were inseparable. They made their home in the Yeager area and raised two daughters.

Paul enjoyed gardening, working on his tractor, camping, baseball and playing numerous games with family. He cherished spending time with Melba and found great satisfaction in a good day’s work.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Melba Dean; his parents, Clifford and Roberta Dean; his brothers, Billy and Jimmy Dean; and one great-grandson, Justin Fitzpatrick.

He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Renfrow and her husband John of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Elizabeth (Beth) Dean of Holdenville, Oklahoma. Paul leaves behind five grandchildren, Amberly Fitzpatrick and her husband Cecil, April Walden and her husband Shayne, Jason Renfrow, Kyle Cates and his wife Ashley, and Christy Wilkes and her husband Chris, and one granddaughter of the heart, Koral Linker and her husband Kenny. Additionally, he is survived by nine great-grandchildren, Christopher Fitzpatrick, Connor and Madison Walden, Kaylee, Kenlee, and Weston Wilkes, Kyler, Brody, and Emma Cates, and two greatgrandchildren of the heart, Grayson and Kolter Linker. Paul is also survived by his sister, Margaret Jones of Ada, Oklahoma, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 10:00am, Friday, June 7th, at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Holdenville, Oklahoma with Pastor Tommy Azlin officiating. Interment will follow at Yeager Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Cates, Shayne Walden, Christopher Fitzpatrick, Jason Renfrow, Chris Wilkes, and Conner Walden. Honorary Pallbearers areCecil Fitzpatrick, Steve Dean, Scott Dean, Tim Jones, and Rick Jones Services are under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home.
