Service Friday for Robert Lee Lynam

Funeral services for Robert Lee “Bob” Lynam will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah with Rev. Donald Baker Officiating.

Robert Lee Lynam was born November 9, 1943 in Bowers, Oklahoma to Robert Aubrey Lynam and Mary Belle (Chronister) Lynam. He was the baby of six children. He passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 in Oklahoma City at the age of 78.

Bob graduated from Shawnee High School in 1962. He joined the United States Army in 1962, served in the Vietnam War and was a “Proud Flag Flying Veteran”. He was also a Free Mason. Bob was a master plumber and foreman at Banner Engineering and later retired in 2003. He married Dora Faye Gryder on September 9, 1988 in Okemah, Oklahoma. Bob enjoyed OU football, hunting, fishing, dominoes with the grandkids and from time to time, he loved a good deer steak and shorty’s homemade biscuits.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Curtis and John Lynam and one sister, Evelyn Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Faye of the home; four children, Tammy Lee Atherton and husband Bill of Fayette, Missouri, Robert (Kenny) Lynam of Harrah, Oklahoma, Connie Lee Holmes and husband Shane of Arlington, Texas and Josette Evans and husband Phillip of Bixby, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, Jonathan, Ashley, Hunter, Andrew, Hayden, Matthew, Hudson, Jennifer, Emily, Sara, Shelby, Beyer and D.J.; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lou Belle Herring and husband Edgar of McAlester and Lyndell Sneed and husband Bobby of McAlester and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
