Service held for Cheparney Harjo

Cheparney Harjo, 71, died on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in Holden-ville. He was born September 30, 1946 to Amos and Lizzie Harjo in Talihina, Oklahoma. He attended Holdenville High School. He married Patsy Clara Lowe on April 18, 1980 in Yeager, Oklahoma.

He enjoyed being with his family. He liked to watch his grandkids play ball and spent his leisure time talking with his family and friends. His favorite teams were OU and the Thunder. He enjoyed watching all their games.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Patsy Clara (Lowe) Harjo; daughters Tammy Harjo and Vanessa Starr; sisters Tena Harjo and Anna Mae Bland; and brothers Herman Harjo and Vernon Harjo.

Survivors include his daughters Joyce Harjo and her husband Glenn of Holdenville, Terri Harjo of Holden-ville, Charlene Lawrence and her husband Morris of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Susan Harjo from Holdenville; son Adonis Harjo of Holdenville; grandchildren Spokogee Watson, Tafv Watson, Desmond Larney, Zaydian Larney, Trevian Carolina, Howard Harjo, Morris Lawrence Jr. Kayden Lawrence and Ziya Lawrence; great-grandchildren Mallory, Dakota Micco Watson and Willow Carolina; siblings Mary Lou Harjo, Alice Lowe, Christine Lovejoy, Jennie McDuff and husband Jim, Noretta Bass and husband David, Bonnie Smith and husband David, LaRue Martin, and Bernice Johnson; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The body was taken to the church on Friday, September 14th , at 4:00 PM. Wake service was held at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 14th , at the Many Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 15th , at the Many Springs Baptist Church. Bro. Jimmy Anderson, Rev. Frank Mop-pin, and Rev. Mike Deere officiated the service. Pallbearers were Trevian Carolina, Russell Lowe, Amos Lovejoy, Chris Bass, Taylor Fields, Cameron Gordon, Fred Lovejoy and Howard Harjo. Honorary bearers were Zaydian Larney, Adonis Harjo, Morris Lawrence Jr., Kaden Lawrence, Spokogee Watson and Desmond Larney. Interment followed at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
