Service held for Gordon McKane

Gordon Ray McKane passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 in Holden-ville at the age of 61. Gordon was born February 8, 1958 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to John McKane and Phyllis Coker McKane.  

He graduated from Holdenville High School class of 1976.  Later, Gordon attended Tulsa Welding School.  He started his working career in the oilfield.  Gordon served his community and was a Fire Fighter in Holdenville and Yeager for over 30 years.  He worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator for 18 years.  He also served in Hughes County as a Sheriff Reserve Deputy for 15 years.

Gordon loved to go to rodeos, deer hunting, spending time with his grandkids and raising cattle.  He was always involved with all his kids school activities.  Gordon was always willing to help others.

Gordon is preceded in death by his dad, John McKane, and grandmother, Bettie McKane.  

He is survived by his mom, Phyllis McKane; the love of his life, Karen; daughter, Tiffany McKane of Holdenville; children, Brian Arthur and wife Jennifer of Washington, Oklahoma, Kevin Arthur and wife Mary of Holdenville, and Jamie Ferguson and husband Shawn of Texas; grandchildren, Brayden Arthur, Kole Arthur, Kyla Arthur, Molli Arthur, Kenna Ferguson, Jaycee Ferguson, and Grant Ferguson; special friends Tony Mitchon and Barry Wood; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was 2:00 PM Monday, December 16th , at First Baptist Church Holdenville with Ronnie Hunter officiating. Burial followed at McKane Family Cemetery at Yeager, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers were Barry Wood, Tony Mitchon, Billy Moss Jr., Larry Richmond, Brandon Moss and Tommy Taylor.  Honorary pallbearers were John Keith Wilkerson, Billy Charles Moss, Jim Turner, Walter Mitchon and Tom Jeffery.

Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home
