Service held for Judith Ann Echols

Judith Ann Smith Echols went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 10, 2019. Judy was born on January 16, 1945 in El Paso, Texas to Virgil and Louise Smith.

She married the love of her life Truman Dale Echols on June 22, 1963. Truman passed away on July 27, 2005 and since that day Judy lived heartbroken for 14 years and 14 days.

Judy graduated from Calvin high school in 1963. She worked for First National Bank in McAlester, Oklahoma for 38 years.

Judy and Truman never had biological children, however she was JuJu to many. She loved children and would have made an outstanding mother. She faithfully taught Sunday school and kept the nursery for numerous years. She had a tremendous impact on young people for numerous generations. She faithfully served her Lord. Her daily scripture texts and words of encouragement were sent to many. She never missed an opportunity to invite someone to church.

Judy is survived by her mother Louise Smith of the home; her sister Gina Simmons and husband James of Calvin; niece Ginger Holliman and husband Robert of Oklahoma City; and her brother in-law James Mayo of Grand Prairie, Texas. Additionally she is survived by two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family, and her clinic family.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Echols; father Virgil Smith; and sister Susan Smith Mayo.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday August 15th , at the First Baptist Church of Calvin with Bro. Kurtis Stoll offi ciating assisted by Bro. Tim Green. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
