Service held for Kenneth Lee

Lynna Faye Rives of Harrah, Oklahoma passed after a short illness on April 23, 2019, at the age of 71.

She was born on September 9, 1947 in Sapulpa, OK to A.A. and Frances (Hampton) Hayes. She moved to Holdenville as a young child, where she attended and graduated from Holdenville High School in 1965. While in school, she met and eventually married Owen H Rives, III (Bud) at the Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church of Holdenville. Together, they had 4 children: Roxanne, Jeffrey, William, and Elizabeth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jerry Hayes; sister Sue Hayes Buck; and sons Jeff and William Rives.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Rives of Baldwinsville, New York and Roxanne (Tom) Davis of Salem, Oregon; step-daughter Melinda (Pete) Garner of Des-tin, Florida; sisters Judy Wallace of Skiatook, and Caren Bennett and Carol Wakeley of Shawnee; granddaughter Rozalynn Horsey; grandson Garrett Rives; best friend Denice (Gary) Vrba of Gatesville, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lynna had recently moved back to Oklahoma to be near her sisters, but spent the previous fourteen years living in Syracuse, New York to be near her grandson, Garrett, who she adored and had an extremely close bond with. She never missed an opportunity to attend his events or spend time with him and was proud to be his “Saycee.” He was the light of her eye and what kept her in New York until shortly before her passing.

During her years spent in Syracuse, she enjoyed participating in the sorority Beta Sigma Phi, and was voted in and served

offices of the local chapter. She also enjoyed activities such as her weekly Mahjong group, and donating her time at the local Rescue Mission serving others.

Lynna always had a smile on her face and a willingness to help in any way possible. She took pride in living a simple life and was known by all for her friendly and caring ways. She was a good friend to many and always thought of others and how she could be of help. Family and friends were the most important things in her life, and especially her grandson, Garrett, who meant the world to her.

A memorial was held at Holdenville Cemetery on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Dane Robinson officiating assisted by Bill Robinson.

Services were under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
