Service held for Mickie Lee Roark

Mickie Lee Roark, 76, of Fitzhugh, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Fitzhugh.

Mickie was born July 18, 1943 to Floyd Marler and Cora Marler Tozer in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended school in Henryetta, as well as meeting her husband of 59 years there, Leonard (David) Roark.

Mickie married David on August 18, 1960 in Henryetta. The couple had three children, and made their home in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma.

Mickie was a homemaker, often making jewelry and floral arrangements in her free time. She attended Holdenville First Assembly of God, where she was always very active. She loved her church family, and taught Sunday school for a number of years there.

When Mickie wasn’t working with the church or in her own home, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, watching the wildlife from her back porch, and spending time with her family.

Mickie is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Marler and Cora Tozer; sons, Bryan Roark and Lonnie Roark; and siblings Allen Marler, Ramona Wilson, and Lynda Walker.

She is survived by her husband, David Roark, of the home; daughter Tammy and husband Jerry Branscum of Byng, Oklahoma; sister Susie Speck of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mickie were held Wednesday, July 15 th , at 1:00 PM in the Estes-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Ada with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. Pastor Alan Lewis officiated the service, assisted by Pastor Paul Ratliff.

Pallbearers were Mark Tulley, Bobby Peters, Jerry Hardwick, Kenny Storts, Hal Sliger, and Charles Thompson, with Mike Estep as an honorary pallbearer.

Services were under the direction of Estes-Phillips Funeral Home.
