Service held for Tommy Joe Crawford

Tommy Joe Crawford, 80, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019. He was born in Lamar, Oklahoma on November 5, 1938 to J. Leonard and Laura M. (Roper) Crawford. He attended public schools and graduated from Holden-ville High School in 1955 and later obtained an Associate’s Degree from Seminole Jr. College in 1981.

Tommy married Helen Mantooth, on May 7, 1982 in Muskogee. They shared more than 37 years of life and marriage together.

Tom was an avid reader, and loved to garden, okra being his specialty.

Tom will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad, grandpa (Pappa). His family meant everything to him.

He was a wonderful grandpa to his granddogs, Daisy, Lola, and Minnie.

He lived a full life and will be greatly missed. His passing will leave a huge void in all of our lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Laura Crawford; siblings, Judy Roberts, Betty Woods, Joy Merkel, Jack Crawford, and Junior Crawford.

Tom is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; his children, Tammy Weatherly and significant other Ricky Moore, Todd Crawford and wife Shelly (Apple) Crawford, Marsha (Wakeley) Cearley and husband Wade, Debra (Wakeley) Epps; granddaughters, Amanda Harrell and husband Cody, Alyssa Main and husband Bradley, Aubry Weatherley; great-granddaughters, Beckett Cheyenne Harrell, and one Harrell on the way, Austyn Jo (A.J.) Main, and Izabella Main; siblings, Corrine Shanda, Mary Mars, and Allen Crawford; along with many other family members and friends.

Funeral services celebrating Tom’s life were held at 10AM, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Payne, Ken Hayes, and Allen Crawford officiating. Interment was at Lamar Cemetery in Lamar, Oklahoma with military honors being presented. Pallbearers were Cody Harrell, Bradley Main, Jay Burk, Bud Edge, Randy Deitz, and Frankie Spears. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Red Neck Round Table.
