Service held for Vicky Brown

Vicky Marie (Carter) Brown, age 41, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, died on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Kansas City University Hospital after a year-long battle with Leukemia.  Vicky was born to Allen and Della Carter in Salida, Colorado on October 19, 1976.  She later moved to Wetumka, Oklahoma and graduated from Moss High School in 1995.  She received her Bachelors degree from East Central University, graduating in 1999. Vicky taught elementary, middle and high school science and coached softball, basketball, track, golf and archery at several schools, including Elgin, Holdenville, Broken Bow, Moss, Tahlequah and most recently Wyandotte.  She is survived by her husband, Brandon Brown, of the home; her son, Wade Brown and her two daughters, Brooke and Dace Brown, all of the home;  her parents, Allen and Della Carter of Wetumka; her sister, Chrissy Underwood and husband Corley of McAlester, Oklahoma, and their children, Riley, Erin, and Sawyer Underwood; one brother, Mike Carter, of Holdenville; her grandfather, Gene Carter; her mother-in-law, Jan Brown of Holdenville; sister-in-law, Tamn Harrington and husband Nathan of Holdenville, and their children, Johnathan Harrington and wife Courtney of Holdenville, Grace Harris and husband Issac of Colorado, and Hannah Harrington; sister-in-law Jade Benson and husband Kelley of McAlester and their children, Olivia, Sage, and Toby Benson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Gerty Carter, and her father-in-law, Jackie Brown. Vicky loved family, sports, coaching and being outdoors, and will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service was held on Monday, September 17th , at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Holdenville, with Keith Warren officiating.
