Service held for William “Bill” Dilday

Funeral services for William Earl “Bill” Dilday were held Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Wetumka Assembly of God Church.  Interment followed at the Holdenville Cemetery.

William Earl Dilday was born October 13, 1939 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Jewett William Dilday and Holly Inez (Brooks) Dilday.  He passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his home in Wetumka at the age of 79.

Mr. Dilday was a lifelong resident of Wetumka.  He and Verna Faye Terrell were married July 2, 1957 in Midland, Texas.  Mr. Dilday worked many years as a carpenter and contractor and later was a dozer operator for X-Bar Ranch.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting and truly “never met a stranger”.  He was also a member of the Wetumka Assembly of God Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jewett William and Holly Inez Dilday; one grandson, Billy Joe Dilday and two brothers, J.W. Dilday and Oliver Ray Dilday.

Survivors include his wife, Verna Faye Dilday of the home; three sons, David Earl and Russel Dilday of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Gayle Don and Tina Dilday of Wetumka, Oklahoma and Clifford Dean Dilday of Wetumka; one brother, Wendall Amos Dilday of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Matthew David Dilday, Christan Leigh Butler, Joshua David Dilday, Bonnie Gayle Clayton, Ashley Brooke Slape and Chad Dakota Dilday and 13 great-grandchildren, Ansleigh, Michael, Jordan, Caleb, Colin, Caitlyn, Wyatt, Peyton, Alexandria Dawn, Dakota, Brooklyn, Emmalyn and Jaxon.  He is also survived by a host of dear friends.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Chad Rogers, Gerald Mills, Monty Mills, Harvey Price, Ronald Ray and Bud Welch.

Honorary pallbearer will be Finis Pack.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Pastor Curt Bellinger.
