Service Monday for Helen Carroll

Helen (Smith) Carroll was born September 23, 1940 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Elmer and Pearl (Cummins) Smith and passed from this life March 2, 2020 at her home near Wetumka at the age of 79.

She was married to James Carroll in 1963 in Holdenville and he preceded her in death in 2016. Her parents also died earlier. Helen worked as the manager of the Dollar General Store in Wetumka for many years retiring in 2003.

Her hobbies included feeding birds and reading. She loved her family and her pet cat Wiggles. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Wetumka.

Survivors include: her sister Laverne Roberts of Grand Prairie, Texas and a brother Darrell Smith and wife Glenda of Holdenville; a sister-in-law Karen Ingram of Clarksville, Tennessee; a brother-in-law Steve Carroll and wife Rita of Shawnee; along with several nieces, nephews, which includes David Smith of Holdenville, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wetumka with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Pallbearers will be Arlie Nolen, Dewayne Smith, David Smith, Kenny Snyder, Justin Smith, Adam Smith, and Luke Smith. Interment will be in the Holdenville Cemetery, under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka.
