Service pending for Frankie Brown

Frankie Clarise Brown, (also known as Coach Brown) went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 9, 2018.  Frankie was born on March 22, 1958, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Willie and Estella Newsom Brown.  Frankie was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Merle and Harold Brown, and one sister, Stella O’Guinn.

Frankie was a 1976 graduate of Holdenville High School.  Frankie graduated from Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where she played basketball and then went on to East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where she finished her collegiate basketball career and received her Bachelor’s Degree.  Frankie was a teacher and coach who positively impacted the lives of students and athletes at Bristow, Wewoka, and Justice schools.  In addition to teaching and coaching, she loved basketball, softball, and Oklahoma State University.

Even though Frankie’s life work was teaching and coaching, her greatest love and what her life truly represented was her love for and devotion to Jesus Christ.  She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and began teaching Sunday School as a teenager.  As her relationship with Jesus continued to grow throughout her life, in addition to teaching Sunday School, she was active in other church activities and was ordained as a Deaconess.

Frankie leaves to cherish her memories, sisters and brothers which include Claretta Reese, Oklahoma City, Liz Campbell, Holdenville, Willya Brown, Vallejo, California, Alfred Brown, Wichita Kansas Robert Brown Pow-, ,

der Springs, Georgia, Brenda Lewis, Bakersfield, California, Shelly Parker, Bowie, Maryland, and two half-brothers, Billy Brown, Oklahoma City, Floyd Brown, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and one half-sister, Willy Joyce Webb, Oklahoma City.  Also cherishing her memories are a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.  

Our family would like to thank everyone for the many expressions of love that have been extended to Frankie and to us during this difficult time.  Thank you to the doctors, nurses and other staff at St. Francis and Select Specialty Hospitals of Oklahoma City for the care extended to Frankie.

Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church,

Holdenville, with burial at Buckner Cemetery.

Funeral service is under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
