Service Saturday for Christine West

Christine (King) West passed from this life in Richardson, Texas on Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2019, at the age of 76 years.  

Christine was born to Hugh Albert King and Bessie Jewel (Watson) King on April 9, 1942, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.  She grew up in Tehachapi, California, and graduated from High School in Artesia, New Mexico.  She completed nursing school in Roswell, New Mexico and was a caring LVN for 36 years.  

Christine was married to Jimmy Wayne West on May 1, 1987, at McKinney Texas.  She made her home in McKinney until 1990 when she moved to Atwood, Oklahoma to care for her parents.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.  She loved the outdoors and camping. She loved playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.  She was a tireless caregiver to many, and had an incredible sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy West; her parents, Jewel and Hugh King; her daughter, Elizabeth ‘Shelley’ Yousef; four brothers: Alvin Gary, Lavoice Gary, Lester Gary, and Robert King; her sister, Naomi Ward.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Potter (Beth) and Christie Humphrey (Philip); her siblings: Bill Gary, Gene Gary, Loretta Gary and Rachel Walker; her grandchildren: Adham Yousef, Noah Allred, Madison Hotchko, Jewel Allred and Katelyn Allred; her step daughter, Marsha West; her step grandchildren, Amanda McAdams and Kimberley McAdams; numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly called her “Aunt Cookie”.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at the Atwood Church of Christ, and Christine will be laid to rest at Atwood Cemetery.  Viewing will be Friday, February 15, 2019, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
