Service set for Catherine Williams

Catherine Annit (John) Williams passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at her home in Stuart at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 11 days.

Catherine was born January 14, 1942 in Wardville, Oklahoma to Edward Sim and Alice Folota (Perry) John. She a t t e n d e d and graduated from Atoka High School. Catherine was an LPN.

On December 19, 1961 she married Du-ward Williams in Van Buren, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2016. Catherine was a member of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Holdenville. She loved to quilt and crochet.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Alice John; her husband, Duward Williams; brothers Leroy John and Lenard John; and sisters Lillie Harris, Julia Homer and Ellie Pickens.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Hightower of Holdenville, La-Vonda Peckio and husband Paul of Stuart, and Leta Michelle Simmer of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Elizabeth Shupe of Holdenville, LCpl. Micah Simmer of Okinawa, Japan, Brenda Hamilton of Stuart, and Quinn Simmer of Oklahoma City; great-granddaughter Kayden Shupe, Holdenville; brother, Wilburn Shields of McAlester; brother-in-law, Lewis Williams and wife P a u l e t t a of Stuart; nieces Paula Brown and husband Wesley of Lula, Pam Sigman and husband

Stacy, Holdenville, and Opal Harrell and husband Brad of Cambridge, Minnesota; one nephew, Duward Williams and wife Joy of Stuart; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Family night visitation will be Tuesday, April 2nd . Graveside services for Catherine will be held Wednesday, April 3rd , 1:00 pm in the Rosedale Cemetery, Ada, with Marla Chesser officiating. Serving as casketbearers will be Micah Simmer, Duward “Cap” Williams, Wesley Brow, Paul Peckio, John Wesley Brown and Jaedyn Winters. Honorary bearers are Tony Santos and Lewis Williams.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, Coalgate.
