Darrell Lee Smith passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Holdenville General Hospital at the age of 82.

Darrell was born October 4, 1937 in the house he lived in all his life in Yeager to Elmer Smith and Pearl Neva Cummins. Darrell graduated from Yeager Public School. He married Glenda Joyce Collis on July 27, 1957 at First Baptist Church in Holdenville. Darrell was a field superintendent in the oilfield for TK Drilling. He enjoyed cutting horses, square dancing, raising cattle, spending time with family, going to family reunions and telling stories.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Helen Carroll.

He is survived by his wife Glenda of the home; sons, Dewayne Smith and wife Michelle of Holdenville, and David Smith (Juanita Riddle) of Holdenville; grandchildren, Adam Smith of Holdenville, Luke Smith of Norman, Justin Smith and wife April of Seminole, and Danielle Smith of Ada; great grandchildren Hunter, Gracie, Noah, Roper, Jay, Logan, Mason, and Blaine; and sister Lavern Roberts of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Pallbearers are Denny Boren, Randy Elmore, Leon Barrett, Joe French, Barry Wood, and Charles O’Kelly. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Goodson, Corky Crittenden, John Goodson, Doyle Wilson, Richard O’Donley, Coby Bowen, Randy Brown and Josh Black.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 22 nd , at the Holdenville Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Azlin officiating.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma. COVID-19 guidelines observed with social distancing in place for gatherings.
