Services held for Eileen Harjo

Eileen (Hobia) Harjo passed away Friday December 20, 2019, at the Heritage Village Nursing Center at the age of 85.

Eileen was born August 31, 1934 in Carson, Oklahoma to Sango Harjo and Nora Bruner.  Eileen attended Eufaula Boarding schools.  She was a member of the Many Springs Baptist Church and was a Sister Leader for many years.  She also attended Yeager Methodist Church for many years.  She was raised in the Spaulding and the New Tulsa Stomp Ground area, and moved to Holdenville then to the Yeager area.

Eileen is preceded in death by her parents; sons, William “Sonny” Harjo Jr. and Vincent Lee

Harjo; brother Daniel Mickey and one sister.  

She is survived by her children, Floyd and Wilma Harjo of Weleetka, Cletus Cully of Holdenville, and Noretta and Mark Anderson of Holdenville; sister Shirley Chambers of Holdenville; grandchildren Shane Harjo, Shelly Harjo, Bill Harjo, Kristie Harjo, Kevin Harjo, Tyler Anderson, Mitchell Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Cale Harjo, Ivan Harjo, Amanda Guerro, Tina Ironhorse, and Monica Postoak; three great-grand sons; 11 great-granddaughters; and numerous other relative and friends.  

Wake services was held 6:30 PM Thursday, December 26th , at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel and at 4:00 PM Friday, December 27th , at Many Springs Church. Funeral service was 1:00 PM Saturday, December 28th , at Many Springs Church. Interment followed at Wetumka Cemetery in Wetumka, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers were Bill Harjo, Kevin Harjo, Tyler

Anderson, Mitchell Anderson, Kyle Anderson and Shane Harjo.  Honorary pallbearers were Theron Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Connor Anderson, Isiah Anderson, Cale Harjo, Ivan Harjo and Michael Mickey.

Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
