Van Hardin

Funeral services for Marion “Van” Hardin will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Van Hardin of Okemah, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on April 23, 1940 to Henry Thomas Hardin and Mary Lollie Deer Hardin.

Van was in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1965. He married the love of his life at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma and were together for 51 years. He also worked as a derrick hand in the oilfield for many years. He worked as a mechanic, and then later retired from Creek Nation Casino as a Security Guard. Van also loved hunting, fishing, watching his chickens and spending time his kids and grandchildren along with many family and friends. He will be missed so much.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Gerald Hardin, and wife Carmaletta Hardin, Bobby Gene Hardin, Winslow Hardin, and Kenneth Dale Hardin, 2 sisters, Wanda Hardin Bouldin, and Joyce Ann Hardin, 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Carpenter Hardin, and Nancy Hardin, mother-in-law Rossie Lee Spencer Alston, and grandson Michael Allen Issac Jr.

He is survived by his wife Lois Jane Hardin of Okemah, Ok., 3 sons, Coby Van Hardin of Okemah, George Henry Thomas Hardin and wife Haley of Wetumka, Ok., Marion McKinley Hardin of Okemah, Ok., 3 daughters, Vaniece Michelle Hardin Southard and husband Michael of Mills River, North Carolina, Mary EmmaLee Hardin Gore and fiancé John Donley of Henryetta, Ok. and Sara Jane Hardin Taylor and husband Tim of Okemah, Ok., 5 grandsons Conner William Gore, Dillion Thomas Gore, Gage Phoenix Hardin, Issac James Hardin, and Bobby Jo Hardin. 5 grand daughters EmmaLee Rayann Gore, Brelyn Faith Hardin, Arya Madison Donley, Hadley Eva Rossie Hardin, and Reese Olivia Ann Hardin. 3 brothers, Marshall Lee Hardin of Okmulgee, Ok., Ronald Coleman Hardin and wife Cassie of Maud, Ok., Carol Gene Hardin of Wewoka, Ok., sister, Doris Janell Hardin Sullivan of Okemah, Ok., sister-in-law Shirley Hardin of Okemah. Among numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Toas Barrone, John Holloway III (Kojack), Justin Hicks, Michael Hardin, Aaron Hardin and Jesse Vanderslice.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Gonseth, James Kenneda, Wiley Kenneda, James Vanderslice, and Billy White Jr.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Terry Edminsten.
