William “Bill” Misenheimer passes away

William “Bill” Atwood Misenheimer, who once worked for the Holdenville Daily News, died March 16, 2019. He was 83. Misenheimer was born March 12, 1936, in McAlester. He attended Wewoka schools and graduated from high school in Colton, California. In 1960, he returned to Oklahoma to run the Kiowa Chronicle for his grandfather. The printing press from this weekly newspaper is now in a museum. Bill married Mary Kay Jones in Wewoka on July 1, 1961. The couple lived in Holdenville while Bill worked for the Holdenville Daily News. They later returned to California, but then moved back to Oklahoma in 1972. Misenheimer is survived by his wife, Mary Kay; two sons, Jeff of Wewoka and David or Sheridan, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
