Wilma Agatha “Gabby” Branum was born November 9, 1946 in Hanna, Oklahoma to William Oscar Blair and Elsie Blanche (Meek) Blair and passed from this life March 7, 2023 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 76.

Gabby was raised in Hanna and attended the Hanna School. As a young lady she relocated to Arizona where she married Leon Pete Branum.

He preceded her in death on December 13, 1983. Following his passing she came back to Oklahoma to be near family, settling in the Dustin area where she raised her four children.

She worked as a teacher along with several other vocations before receiving certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She retired from nursing following some fifteen years of service caring for others.

Gabby loved her family.

Her favorite pastime was spending time with “Poppy” and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, and watching her favorite show on TV, Law and Order. She always had a smile to share and showed love to all who were around her.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Stephanie RaeChel Smith, a son Robert Dale Branum, and siblings Theodore, Patsy, and Odell.

Survivors include: her partner, Burl “Poppy” Williamson of the home; her children, Leon Branum Jr. and wife Anita of Dustin, Suzy Berry of Wetumka, and Michael Branum and wife Linda of Drumwright; her sisters, Melba Wallace and Maggie Smith of Dustin, and Sandi Crawford and husband Wayne, Jackie Summers and husband Billy; her grandchildren, Robert Pete Gabriel Branum, Leon Kyle Branum, Destiny Nace, Darren Michael Branum, Renneth Wayne Berry, and Adrian Blake Berry; her great grandchildren, Kabella Dawn German, Valor Kaine Berry, Brayden Dean Branum, Baylee RaeChel Branum, Kambree Mattyx Branum, Tynzlee Rose Branum, Racelynn Gabrielle Storm Branum, Emma Nace, and Jace Barrington; along with many other relatives and many friends.

Visitation for Wilma Branum will be held at Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka on Thursday, March 9 from 10:00am until 8:00pm.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Dustin Assembly of God Church with her son Rev. Michel Branum officiating. Pallbearers will be Renneth Berry, Darren Branum, Robert Pete Branum, Tommie Nace, Chris Berry, and Adrian Berry. Kyle Branum will serve as a honorary bearer.

Interment will follow in the Mellette Cemetery near Eufaula, under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
