That is certainly true of our mothers, past and present.

Note how seemingly “innocent” entries can be turned against us! 1. LONGTERM PARKING
Some people left their car in the long-term parking at the airport while away, and someone broke into the car.
We used to talk about something called the “news cycle.” This is supposed to be the amount of time a particular topic or story continues to be aired before it cycles out.
NEW neighbors came to the corner house at Congress and Green streets. The look of their clean white curtains was the same as the rim of a nun’s bonnet. One way was an oyster pail factory, one way they made candy, one way paper boxes, strawboard cartons.
Who would think that seventy five miles could make such a difference. When I was growing up, Fall was the time of year when when we would gather Hickory nuts, bring them into the yard and dump them at the base of the Cottonwood tree in our yard.

This is a mental fitness evaluation for people who are considering retirement or for those already retired and might be experiencing second thoughts. If you get one right, you are doing OK. If you get none
right, you might better go for counseling. (I’ll meet you there).

Every so often I think about retiring again. I recently celebrated the 65th reunion with a few remaining members of the glorious 1953 graduating class of Holdenville High School.
It’s a dynamic time of the year in a special spot in the universe called America. And what makes our country so special anyway? That’s not easy to figure out. At least not for me. I remember a special time for me in the fall of 1956 when I flew home from a place called Japan.
