Roosevelt CoffeeIt wasn’t until the middle of 1942 that we Centrahoma folk realized we faced yet another wartime hardship. The great coffee shortage. Seemed like it affected our fellow Americans too. We were each buying and consuming 20 pounds of coffee per year in 1942. But no worry.

Some moms resist changeOne of the more popular expressions knocked around by people in my age group (OLD!!) is “used to be.”That is certainly true of our mothers, past and present.

When I was in school, back in the “good ole days” no activities were scheduled on Wednesday nights or Sunday. Those days were set aside for church. Like many other things, that has changed and not for the better….

Getting Inaugurated I haven't been invited yet, but I am keeping my phone lines open in case President-Elect Trump decides to invite me to his inauguration. Perhaps he will want me to speak or something. My cell phone is fully charged.

Many people do. Many people find this particular holiday season to be full of heartache, or a nameless void. They can feel a myriad of unwelcome emotions that threaten to overwhelm and sink them into a black hole. Sadness, depression, loneliness, anxiety, or just the very fear of any of those.
