Many of us remember the Sheppard family, Gary and Lula owned a local pool hall back in the 1950s and 60s. They served hamburgers, chili and refreshments in their business. I knew them well and continue to be a close friend of their son Ron who lives in Seminole.

Makai Lee Blades, of Glenpool, Oklahoma and son of Marvin and Tanya Blades, runs track at Pitt State in Pittsburg, Kansas. He runs the 100-meter, 200-meter, and the 4x1 relay. On Saturday, at Pitt State, Makai’s relay team came in 1st and he came in 3rd in the 100.

The Town Trustees met on Tuesday to discuss the business of the Town. Two trustee positions are up for election next month, Marilyn Jackson and Otis Davis. Anyone wishing to run for these positions need to file with Shirley Nero, secretary/clerk.

A home in the 400 block of East Tiger in Wetumka was a complete loss this past weekend. The residence is located across from the high school and the owner of the residence was unknown at press time.
