Clearview News: Happy birthday to Ethelene Scott on February 11th and Billy Walker on February 25th . Sympathy is extended to the Winston family on the death of Richard Winston of Oklahoma City. He will be buried at Northfork Cemetery next week. Alpheus Grundy and Otis Davis are doing much better.

Winter finally arrives in Vernon, the first time in over 5 years that the temperature dropped low enough for long enough for the snow to last more than a few hours. The snow began falling around 11p.m. with flakes so heavy you could hear them landing. By the next morning it had started to melt.

ROADS WERE TREACHEROUS THIS WEEK AS THE ICE BUILT UP ON THE ROADS ALL OVER THE STATE. Pictured above is a 7-semi-truck pile up approximately 4 miles west of Henryetta. Highway 75 south of Calvin was temporarily shut down Wednesday due to several semi trucks off the road.

ADA – East Central University is recognizing students for their outstanding academic work during the Fall 2020 semester by naming them to the President’s Honor Roll. The President’s Honor Roll is reserved for students who earn A’s in all of their courses for a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Wetumka ended the season with a 10-5 record after topping Canadian 74-53. Three Chieftains tied for top scoring honors with 12 points each. They were Alex Freeman, Jace McCoy and Jordan Osborn. Mozes Coachman was also in double figures with 10.

Claudine B. Willis of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away at the age of 96, on January 20, 2021. She was predeceased by : her parents, Bert Bundy and Mary Bundy (Brown); her husband Kenny Willis; and her siblings, Alva of Velma, AC and Alene.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Romeo Alford Jr. whose life was taken from him due to Coronavirus complication. A private service is schedule for Tuesday, followed with burial at Clearview Cemetery.
