    Candidates for municipal office in Hughes County municipalities may file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, February 1st. Brandy Davis, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 3rd.

    Deadline to Request Absentee Ballots Nears

    Less than a week remains for registered voters in Hughes County to apply for absentee ballots to be mailed to them for the February 9th Special Allen Public School and Weleetka Public School Elections, Hughes County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today.

    Muscogee Creek Nation drive-by voting Feb. 9

    Due to MCN Executive Order 20-02, NCA 20-066 and CDC Guidelines to prevent large gatherings. Drive-by voting will be held February 9th 5pm-8pm. Wetumka Indian Community Board of Directors 2021 Elections-Filing period begins January 25th ends February 4th @ 5pm.

    Black History is Oklahoma History

    February marks the annual nationwide observance of African American history. Historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson founded, in 1926, Negro History Week to this occasion to highlight the history and contributions of African Americans.

    Clearview News

    The Clearview road project from the Clearview Cemetery toward Weleetka has begun. Utilities are being moved and as soon as that work is complete, the widening of the road to one mile south of Grassy Lake should begin very soon.
