Gone Savin’ Lives Blood Drive

Central Metal Finishing is hosting a blood drive in conjunction with the Oklahoma Blood Institute. The drive will be held on Wednesday, July 22 from 11 a.m to 2:30 p.m. at their main office. To schedule an appointment contact Jennifer Griffin at 580-399-8579.

An early morning house fire at 1106 S. Oak, Holdenville, completely destroyed the residence. The Holdenville Fire Department responded quickly and extinguished the flames, but not before it had engulfed the home.

Plane crashes near Dustin; one dead

The Hughes County Sheriff’s Office and Hughes County EMS responded Friday, July 10, to a small plane crash within the county. The pilot was transported by Hughes County EMS paramedics to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. OHP, FAA, and NTSB are conducting the investigation.
