Hope Harbor is excited to announce our new Executive Director, Mr. Dirk O’Donnell. Mr. O’Donnell is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma. Since moving to Claremore three years ago, Mr. O’Donnell and his family have been supporters of Hope Harbor.

The Hughes County Health Department, in partnership with Holdenville-Hughes County Emergency Management, will host a drive-thru COVID-19 test clinic on Tuesday, June 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or until supplies are no longer available, at Holdenville High School, 112 E. 9 th St.

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services plans to close 35 offices across the state, including the Hughes County office in Holdenville.

Voters approved a $950,000 Hughes County Emergency Medical Service (HCEMS) bond issue on January 10, 2017.

Holdenville resident Jack Sherry has been appointed by Gov. Kevin Stitt as a member of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. His appointment was recently confirmed by the Senate, and he will be sworn in at the State Regents’ June 25 meeting.

The first positive case of the COVID 19 virus in Hughes County was confirmed on Friday, May 29. Two more cases were reported in Hughes County on Monday, and an additional case was reported Tuesday, bringing to total up to four. The first case was originally listed as being in the 74747 zip code.
