The FBI and the Hughes County Sheriff’s Department arrested former Wetumka Mayor James Jackson this morning at his Main Street residence. Jackson is being charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor in the state of Illinois.

The HHS drama club recently performed the play, Oedipus Rex by Sophocles. The play was directed by drama teacher, Catherine Brigden. The production of Oedipus Rex was done after the style of the ancient Greeks. It was first produced in the year 429 BC, almost 2,550 years ago.

We had 7 Moon domino players Monday night at the Nazarene Fellowship Hall and we played 7 games beginning at 5:45 and ending at 9:45. The last game was an hour long as someone would shoot the Moon and go into the circle(lost) and then come out and shoot it again. The opposing team would do the same!
