HUMMY BUN CAKE 1 yellow cake mix (without pudding) ¾ cup oil 4 eggs 4 eggs 1/3 cup water 8 oz. carton sour cream Mix listed ingredients together. Pour half of the batter into a 9 x 13-inch pan. Then mix ½ cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in small bowl.

Ronna Haney named VFW State Teacher of the Year

(Oklahoma City) In a ceremony held on February 15th, the Veterans of Foreign War & Auxiliary awarded teachers and students from throughout the State of Oklahoma for their hard work and dedication in promoting patriotism.

Hospital Tax Renewed

Joe Biden was the choice of Hughes County democrats in Tuesday’s election. Also on the ballot was the one cent sales tax for the hospital. It easily passed 517-172.

Wetumka special election filings

The filing period has ended for the Wetumka Special Election and a total of seven candidates have filed for City Council. For Ward three are Kelly Currier, Joshua Howk and Deborah Wilbourn. For Ward four are Wilburn Louis Hobia and Richard James Roush.
