ADA. The East Central University Black Alumni Association honored lifetime educator and ECU alum Donnie Nero with its prestigious Trailblazer Award as part of the program for the annual Louise Young Diversity Lecture on campus Thursday night.

Sammy Luker’s basketball career not ending just yet. The 6’0 forward from Stuart High School has committed to play collegiate basketball at Southwestern Christian in Bethany, Oklahoma. Sammy is pictured with Southwestern Christian basketball coaches and his parents on signing day.

Stuart 4-H and FFA members participated in the annual Stuart Livestock Show Feb. 15, 2020, at the Stuart livestock barn. Winners in each division were eligi-ble to participate in the Hughes County Livestock Show at Holdenville.

The Hughes County 4-H Public Speaking Contest was held at Moss School on Wednesday, February 19th. All students from Stuart School placed in the top three in their category.

Wetumka Kiwanis Little League registration will begin Monday February 17th and run thru Thursday March 12th. Kiwanis will hold a sign-up Monday February 17th at the Wetumka school cafeteria from 5:30pm-7pm.

Martha Branham was born and reared in Dustin, OK and graduated at Dustin High School in 1949. She has always loved to sing. Her first solo was at age 5 during a Christmas Eve program at First Baptist Church, Dustin, where she also became a Christian and was baptized at age 10.
