Oklahoma 4-H celebrates 98th State 4-H Roundup

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State University gave way to the traditional color of orange in favor of green recently as 4-H’ers from across the state arrived on campus for the 98th State 4-H Roundup.

Outlaws Crush Gans 70-28

The Weleeetka Outlaws rolled up 418 yards Friday night on their way to crushing Gans 70 to 28. The locals scored 24 points in the first quarter and an amazing 38 points in the third quarter. Brennon Lewis opened the scoring with a one yard plunge with about four minutes gone in the game.

Sucker Day will be held NEW LOCATION - Kialegee Tribal Town

Since the Wetumka Mayor announced that the city would not help with this year’s Sucker Day, the Sucker Day committee and Kiwanis Club have faced several challenges. Ina special Kiwanis Club meeting Wednesday the club accepted an offer from Kialegee Tribal Town to hold the popular event there.

Retired Educators to meet

The Hughes County retired Educators will have a meeting on Monday, September 16th at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Boomerang Diner in Holdenville. All Hughes County (Holdenville, Wetumka, Allen, Calvin, Atwood etc.) retired Educators are invited to attend.
