Wes Watkins Technology Center, 7892 OK-9, Wetumka, OK 74883 will be offering free HiSET/GED classes, Monday and Tuesdays from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Contact Troy Gayle Walling – 580-595-1153 or twalling@wwtech.edu. Classes will begin on September 5 and run through May 26, 2020.

The Middle Creek #1 Church is celebrating 150 year birthday on September 22, 2019 @ 10:30 am. There will be a history of the church, lunch and gospel singing in the afternoon. Everyone is invited to come and bring your lawn chairs.

In Loving Memory of Jeffrey Alphonso Owens “Jeff” was born July 8, 1959 to Clifford and Freddie Mae Owens in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father preceded him in death; Jeffrey was the second of three children. He spent his formative years growing up in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Clearview Brown Suggas kicked off their Community Project for the year of visiting the shut-ins and bringing baskets of gifts and snacks. Their first visit of the project was on August 20th with Marguerite French.

Dr. Nicole Kirk, a published historian professor of American Religion of Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, Illinois visited Clearview on August 8th and with Shirley Nero. She is working on a new book and exploring how black towns might contribute to her thesis.
