The Nero Family on Vacation

The Nero family bunch decided to make a trip to the Branson, Missouri to spend a week taking in the sites. Those joining were the children of Donnie and Shirley Nero, Tanya and D. J.

Rocking Dinosaur raises funds for charity

Members of the Alpha Phi Alpha, Beta Epsilon Lambda Chi Chapter, sold chances to win a rocking dinosaur as their annual fundraiser.  Each year the chapter raises money to provide food baskets for the elderly, military families, and families of need in the communities of Boley and Clearview.

Sam Crosby chosen as District Teacher of the Year

Sam Crosby has been chosen as the 2019 Holdenville School District Teacher of the Year. Crosby has been the band director at Holdenville Public Schools for 5 years. Mr. Crosby is a 2012 graduate of East Central University where he received his degree in Instrument Music Education.

Former Holdenville couple makes heroic effort to save passengers

An Ada man is being hailed a hero after risking his life to pull an injured man out of a burning car in the early morning hours Wednesday on state Highway 3E just outside of Ada. Dan Tiger was at home with his wife, Amie, in May’s RV Park around 2 a.m.

‘They saved my daddy’s life’

Dan is not the only person who believes he was right where he was supposed to be at that moment. Nineteen-year-old Kendra Nolen, of Augusta, Kansas, said her father is only alive today because Dan saved him.

Cause of collision under investigation

Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports indicate Nolen was traveling eastbound on SH3E when the 2011 Dodge pickup he was driving crossed the center line and struck a 2010 Chrysler driven Deborah Smithee, 49, of Stonewall.

Vietnam War Veteran active in local American Legion Post

A Quilt of Valor was presented to Holdenville Veteran Jackie Venable on Saturday, June 29, by the Oklahoma Director of Quilts of Valor Foundation Representative Donna McCormack. Jackie is a Vietnam veteran and an active member of Holdenville Thomas Breeding-Buckley American Legion Post 32.
