County Commissioner Gary Phillips announced today that there will be road construction ongoing on the Lamar road between Horn-town and Lamar. He urges everyone to please use caution when traveling on this stretch of road.

We recently had the opportunity to visit with Mary Ann Gaberino of Stuart. Her husband was a brother to John Gaberino of Holdenville. The Stuart Historical Society is planning an OLD TIMES DAY Saturday Sept. 21st on the Stuart Hotel Grounds.

was recently awarded a garden grant in the amount of $2000 from The Whole Kids Foundation.  According to Stuart Public Schools Grants Coordinator, Ronna Haney, funding from this grant will be used to create a gardening program through Stuart Agriculture Education classes.

American Legion Post 32 of Holdenville has chosen Zack Clark of Stuart High School as one of their delegates to the 2019 session of Oklahoma Boys State.  Boys State was held on the campus of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami from May 25th - June 1st. Zack will be a Senior in the fall.

recently participated in the VFW Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards Contest.  She was the first place winner for VFW Post 8798.  Lace will be a Junior at Stuart this Fall.  She is the daughter of Pattie Fields.

On September 2, 1949 in Clearview, Oklahoma, Frank Chilton and Ruby Lucas welcomed into the world a beautiful baby girl. They would name her Peggy Louise Chilton. Peggy would be the fourth of fourteen children. Growing up in Clearview, she would understand the meaning of family and love.
