Ms. Jones is described as gentle, caring and committed. She serves as the JOM Coordinator for Wetumka Public Schools. Ms. Jones feels a personal responsibility to care of the youth in her community.

Amanda Shaw Amanda Shaw is the daughter of Crystal Freeman. She has attended Wetumka for one year. She has been a cheerleader for three years. Her favorite teacher is Brent McGee and her favorite subject is Current Events/ Debate. Amanda plans to be an LPN and raise her family.

We had 6 “Moon” players Monday night.  We had a great time! It is always fun when ladies get together, especially to play games.  Those playing were Sharon Dilday and Joyce Brinlee; Arjean Williams and Barbara Tiger; and Cindy McDaniel and Lynn Marquis.

Lula Bennett died in February of 1977 just a couple of weeks from her 88th or 89th birthday, having raised ten remarkable children in Hughes County.  After her passing her children and grandchildren organized a reunion to take place on Memorial Day.

Chanlorrein West-Benson Chanlorrein West-Benson is the daughter of Kristal Schoggins. She has attended Stuart school since 2004 and her nickname is Chan’s. She has been active in FFA, winning Star Greenhand, Star Farmer, Student of the month (3 times), and Top blue and gold salesman.

There has been a lot of confusion since the recent election. We have heard this week that all three old employees in the City Clerk’s office have left. Misty Pack left Monday; Amy Leader and Pat Allred left Tuesday.
